The offspring new album 20202/12/2023 ![]() Last year, the SoCal rockers commemorated the 20th anniversary of its Conspiracy of One album by reissuing it on vinyl, the first time since its release in 2000, via Round Hill Records/UMe. Originally released by Darlene Love, The Offspring put their unique stamp on the holiday classic. The new music follows the release of their first ever holiday track, “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home),” which was also produced by Rock, in 2020. ![]() ![]() ‘Let The Bad Times Roll!’” guitarist Noodles adds. “Folks are saying, if it’s all going to hell, we might as well make the most out of it, or at least go out swinging. “I feel like we’re in a unique period in history where instead of our world leaders saying ‘we’re doing our best’ it’s more like they’re saying ‘fuck it’ and its really scary,” Holland says of the song. The title track, written in late 2019 and recorded in 2020, reflects the country’s ongoing challenges. True to the irreverence at the core of punk rock music, the band and lyricist Dexter Holland took a view to today’s cultural moments and didn’t shy away from creating topical material in this album.
